Hello and Welcome to The Writers Road!

I’m writer, blogger and radio show host Daniel Audet.

At the age of 15 I ran away from home, near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and, in the years that followed I aspired to become a professional athlete in 3 different major sports, nearly making it until sidelined by serious foot and hand injuries. Ending up in LA as a model and an actor I’ve worked in over 30 films and 15 commercials, most recently doing a bit as a limo driver in an episode of “Burn Notice”( a very cool show). A gear designer for a major sports action company in the 80’s and 90’s, I got to travel the world, (something I intend to resume soon).
Nature called so I became a tree doctor for most of the 90’s and early 2000’s. Gigs as a waiter, a lifeguard, a bodyguard and a truck driver filled in some of the “lost years”.

A writer by genetics, I’ve always written stories, poems and song lyrics since I was a kid, having found limited success in all 3 fields. Country music is a passion of mine and hopefully I will be spending more time in the Nashville music scene, maybe even getting song credit for work I’ve done that made it to country radio, and finding honest writing partners so I can get more songs on the radio with my name on them.

I made the choice to seriously and completely dedicate myself to fiction writing a few years ago, that is, to learn the craft and art of writing and storytelling, having no idea if I really “had the goods” or the capacity to compete in the big leagues.
So far, so good.
But, I must tell you however that writing is one of, if not the most difficult, endeavors I have ever attempted! It’s a slow climb to the top. I’ve stumbled down many a dark, rocky and dead end trail in my years here on planet earth, learning a lot about more things than I ever could have imagined about myself, the people and the world around me. LIFE.
I’ve been blessed beyond belief to have met and gotten to know many beautiful, interesting, talented and gifted people from all races, countries, and walks of life.
The moments and memories I will always treasure and are forever written on my heart. They will live on in my heart of hearts and in the novels I have yet to write.
I Thank God for this life - every minute of every day.

This is a journal of my trip down the writers road on my way to the mass market commercial thriller/action adventure best seller list.
I hope you’ll come with me and share my successes, and, most sure to come too, my disappointments and failures.
I’ve never thought of myself as special or particularly intelligent, but just a person, a working stiff, who just wanted to be good enough at something so I can make a living and take care of the people I love.
Nothing more.
At the end of the day, I hope I’ve done more things right, than wrong.
Tomorrow, I hope to wake and find myself, still, on the road less traveled, the writer’s road.
It is by God’s merciful grace I have made it this far.
